About Us

Penn Wellness Student Coalition (PWSC) is the student-led mental health funding board and umbrella group for wellness-related student organizations on campus.

We adopt the “Dimensions of Wellness” model in our wellness framework, defining wellness as the integration of physical, intellectual, emotional, social, spiritual, occupational, financial, and environmental wellness.
We also host the annual Wellness Week, in collaboration with Wellness@Penn, administrative offices and a spectrum of student organizations that advocate for various wellness goals. This year’s Wellness Week will be held from April 1st to April 5th, 2024. Stay tuned for more information!

Active Minds

Active Minds aims to eliminate the stigma surrounding mental health issues, and create a comfortable environment for an open conversation about mental health issues on campus.

Art and Wellness

Art and Wellness is an all-inclusive, non-judgmental student group at the University of Pennsylvania where students are allowed to come participate in collaborative painting sessions. Our club facilitates art therapy, meditation, and special wellness events to promote better mental health at Penn.

Body Empowerment Project

Body Empowerment Project at Penn is a student group at the University of Pennsylvania. BEP runs a 10-week program that addresses eating disorder risk among Penn undergraduate students through an original curriculum led by trained Penn undergraduate volunteers. The program works to help participants develop a more balanced and accepting relationship with their bodies through a weight-neutral and health-centered approach to self-care.

Cogwell

CogWell is a student group at Penn that aims to create a more supportive, non-judgmental environment on campus through active listening trainings, led by undergrad students, in order to help break the “Penn Face.” We foster a community within our club through weekly meetings, as well as provide members with opportunities to lead workshops and larger events on campus.

Common Cents

Common Cents is a student organization at the University of Pennsylvania and a national nonprofit seeking to empower college & underserved high school students with the knowledge to manage their money and reach financial independence. Our committees work together to hold events and workshops and create educational resources tailored to high school and college students.

Disabled Coalition

The Disabled Coalition seeks to create a safe space for the University of Pennsylvania’s disabled community to build authentic connections and support one another. The space is designed by and for the disability community to serve as a platform to collaborate among students, faculty, and staff. We aim to empower the disabled community on campus through education. We support students with all types of disabilities, including mental and physical disabilities. We stand in solidarity with students whose existence challenges institutional structures of oppression.

Penn Benjamins

Penn Benjamins, student-run organization, is a peer counseling service for Penn undergraduates. Peer counselors, or “Bens,” are trained using a CAPS-clinician-certified set of modules, preparing them to listen to and support students, and refer them to campus resources, if necessary. Our peer counseling is completely confidential and free.

Reach-A-Peer Helpline

RAP-Line is a peer helpline established by Penn students to provide peer support, information, and referrals. It is open to all students who wish to share a problem, are in need of information, or just want to talk to someone anonymously and confidentially. The service is run by trained student volunteers who have an awareness of campus resources and skills in active listening techniques.
